The 14-event, 94-player Connacht Masters Open at Galway LTC ended with several titles won by non-No. 1 seeds.
Pick of the events where the most lower-ranked players finished at the top included the M45B, won by 7th seed William Nicholson of Mid-Ulster, and the MO40, won by 6th seed Niall Rooney of Fitzwilliam.
Amongst the No.1 seeds who lived up to their status were Leinster CC’s Michael Conroy, winner of the MO35, and Belvedere’s Vincent Pippet, who won the MO50.
Celtic’s Kevin Knox (MO45) and Curragh’s Kyran Hurley (MO70) were two other No.1s who delivered.
