Twenty-seven Irish players – including our three defending champions – now know who they will face in opening round matches of the 2025 European Masters Individual Squash Championships.

It follows the publication on Tuesday morning of the draws for the 20-category Wroclaw tournament, which runs from Wednesday to Saturday.

The event has attracted a massive entry list of 604 two years after the Championships were last held in Hamburg in 2023.

Ireland finished with three first places in Germany – Neil Macarron in the M45+, Rob Staunton in the M50+ and Kyran Hurley in the M70+ – and all three have now travelled to Poland to begin their respective title defences.

Macarron, a No.2 seed, will face Tomas Havlik of the Czech Republic in a round of 64 fixture. Staunton, a 3/4 seed, has been drawn against Robert Stastny, another Czech, or Poland’s Marceli Cziba, also in a round of 64 match.

Meanwhile, second seed Hurley will begin his campaign with a round of 16 clash with Rene Nuessli of Switzerland or France’s Jaime Antonio Gregoire.
