Breanne Flynn has set a new career-best PSA ranking, with Monday’s latest update lifting her to No.100 after she reached the second round of last week’s Indian Open in Mumbai.

The 30-year-old Sutton player has been in tremendous form since returning to the tour following her runners-up finish at the Irish Senior Nationals.

She was No.108 on the women’s list before the start of last month’s Edinburgh Open, five spots below her previous best of No.103 set last November.

Her title win in Scotland, combined with her follow-up run in Austria to the final of the Mozart Open in Salzburg, resulted in a career-best lift to No.102, but that mark has now been surpassed following her round one win over France’s Lea Barbeau in India which earned 75 points.

Flynn will now link up as manager of the David Noone-coached U19 Ireland team for their European Championships in Krakow, a tournament that starts this Saturday with the individual section followed by the mixed team event.

Hannah Craig, who narrowly defeated Flynn in the Irish Nationals final, has also enjoyed a rise, learning on Monday that she was now the PSA No.62, just one off the career-best 61 achieved in July last year.

Craig was on a down week after reaching the quarter-finals at the Calgary Open, which earned 125 points. She is scheduled to be next on court at the Hamburg Open in mid-April.

Switching to the men’s rankings, Sam Buckley’s run to the semi-finals at the Filip Krüeger Open in Sweden didn’t improve his position. Despite earning 72 ranking points, he remained No.107 with his next outing yet to be decided.

Reaching the last 16 at the Stockholm event also didn’t lift Conor Moran. There were 27 ranking points banked, but it only resulted in a fall of four places to No.153. Similar to Buckley, Moran’s next PSA event has still to be confirmed.

All four players – Flynn, Craig, Buckley and Moran – have been selected by head coach Arthur Gaskin for the Senior European Team Championships in Amsterdam at the end of April. Also selected are Oisin Logan, Michael Creaven, Sean Conroy, Aimee McConnell and Sara Sabry.
