The draws have been published for this Saturday’s opening round at the U19 European Championships in Krakow, which features eight Irish players.
In the boys’ individuals section, Sutton’s Tyler Dromgoole has been given a high-profile fixture versus the No.1 seed, Amir Khaled-Jousselin of France.
Also in the top half of the draw is his brother Christian Dromgoole, the 17/24 seed, who will play Spain’s Alex Boni Palau.
Ireland’s two other boys are in the bottom half of the draw in Poland, with BU19 Junior Nationals champion Aaron Knox, the 17/24 seed from Celtic, paired with Yago Origel Koers of the Netherlands.
Meanwhile, Fitzwilliam’s Frank O’Flynn will begin against Gilad Wiegenfeld, the 25/32 seed from Israel.
Switching the girls’ draw, Shriya Drawid, the 25/32 seed from Belfast who is the GU19 Irish Nationals champion, will open against Beren Bakla of Turkey.
Also in the top half of the draw, Ella Erickson, the American-based GU19 Irish Junior Open champion, will play Naomi Wiegenfeld, the 17/24 seed from Israel.
Another 17/24 seed, Sutton’s Zoe Yeomans, is in the bottom half of the draw where she will play Cassy Lincou of France, while Mount Pleasant’s Riley Slade, a 25/32 seed, will open versus Feride Anar of Turkey.
